biology / environmental science
To the left is an image I chose on how I become a scientist. I chose this because on the represents how I the different things I see when I do observations.
The expectation that I had at the beginning of the semester is I thought there was going to be a lot of dissecting because I went to the last year junior’s exhibition and saw them dissecting animals. So I assumed that is what we are going to do. Another expectation I had was learning about plants because it I knew that environment has to do with plants.
A memorable event I had when my perspective of a scientist changed is when we did the abstracted observation. This is when we went to the front of the school and used our black cut out square it made me look closely at the objects I chose to draw. Inside the square I saw the details in the objects and wrote down some good observations. This moment is important to me because it made me realized there can be more to what we actually see.
I evolved as a scientist this semester is I observe my surroundings. It can be the little things next to me. One example is when I go into Sephora while testing on my arm I take a deeper look than I used too.
I did not meet the final product deadlines. I still have not finished my painting. Something that I would do differently this semester is to not wait last minute to do things. Ms. Nuvia did everything to support me in completing the painting but it was just me.
